About Diane Masiello

Diane is a writer and high school English teacher at a Catholic, all-girls private school who also volunteers as Communications Director for the non-profit organization Angels for Change.

She began her teaching and writing career over 30 years ago, first teaching at and earning her Ph.D. in English Education from New York University, then relocating with her husband to Florida where she taught at Nova Southeastern University and The University of Tampa.

She left academia to raise two beautiful daughters and help care for her aging parents, which is when she turned to blogging to help her process her experiences. She started writing about her personal life in 2003 with a LiveJournal entitled “Afternoons with Coffee Spoons” which she eventually translated over to WordPress. In 2019 she was invited to join “The Gloria Sirens” blog which gave her space to develop her voice.

Over the past few years–as she has worked in various faith formation roles at her parish, navigated raising teenagers, and returned to teaching–her writing has become more focused on the interplay of her Catholic faith, mystery, and storytelling. In 2025 this led her to return to writing exclusively for this, her own blog, where she can more devotedly explore “Every Grace and Blessing” that God has bestowed upon her life, the lives of her friends and family, and even our world.
